As a girl who used to play, I honestly agree. I can deal if you’re 100% educated of the sport and are like a super fan, but nothing less then that. Which goes for make and female. So what you’re saying is that people who weren’t lucky enough to grow up with the money to play, or say, people with disability who aren’t physically able to play, or maybegrew up in the goshdang desert just aren’t worthy of being fans? Yeah, okay.
I had my chance to play and then i blew out my knee. I could still if i wanted to but a 85% rate of injuring my knee again so much so that i could limb or injure it even more, i decided not too continue playing a sport i breathe and bleed. I am a hockey player (miracle reference intended) and i am a hockey fan. And everyone else is too no matter what.
You like bands, right? Well I happen to be in a band and it pisses me off that you actually like MUSIC when you don’t even have a BAND. Like, it’s okay if you play 10 instruments and can play the entire solo to “Afterlife” by Avenged Sevenfold, but nothing less than that. How DARE you say you like music?
CEMENT ECLIPSES @ CHIAPAS MEXICO
Artist Isaac Cordal (tumblr / facebook) - “With the simple act of miniaturization and thoughtful placement, Isaac Cordal magically expands the imagination of pedestrians finding his sculptures on the street. Cement Eclipses is a critical definition of our behavior as a social mass. The art work intends to catch the attention on our devalued relation with the nature through a critical look to the collateral effects of our evolution. With the master touch of a stage director, the figures are placed in locations that quickly open doors to other worlds. The scenes zoom in the routine tasks of the contemporary human being”.
“We’re coming for you whether the Muggles like it or not, you can’t miss the World Cup, only Mum and Dad reckon it’s better if we pretend to ask their permission first. If they say yes, send Pig back with your answer pronto, and we’ll come and get you at five o’clock on Sunday. If they say no, send Pig back pronto and we’ll come and get you at five o’clock on Sunday anyway.”one of many reasons why Ron Weasley is the best friend anyone could possibly imagine (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, chapter 3)
wHO DID THIS.
“If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t they never were.”- Richard Bach – Yeah?.. well fuck that shit and fuck Richard Bach. Do you honestly think, I have the time to meet someone, click, grow an attachment, fall in love, deeply in love, I’m not talking your average crush, I’m talking, going back to the days where we used to write love letters from long distances type of love, the “making a cup of tea and blowing it until its warm enough for them to drink” type of love… to have a soul connection, miss them, crave them, submit to them, etc.. just to let them go in the future. Wdf. Listen, if it’s gotton deep enough for me to fall into that type of love, I’m not letting you go. Fuck, I hate this generation of replacers. If something goes wrong, instead of fixing it, we replace, or let it go or some other dumb shit. No. Richard Bach, who is divorced, I will not take advice from you. As long as it isn’t toxic and unhealthy, I am not letting go.”- TGV (via kushandwizdom)
I needed to read this..(via a-wolf-among-tea)
Can I just say how cool it was that both of these superheroines’ personalities and powers were explored in this episode? And how well it was done?
Starfire was not shamed for being emotional. Her powers come from her emotions.
Raven was not shamed for suppressing her emotions. Her power requires amazing control.
They both. Work. They are both different kinds of strength, and they are both heroic and powerful and good. And they each learned from the other, and helped each other out by seeing from each others’ perspective, and finding the value in their differing approaches! Wow!
Fuck yes, this is how you write super-ladies, okay. There’s more than one way to be a “strong female character.” There’s all different kinds of strength. Why don’t more people GET this?
*hides good snacks from family members*
there’s a word for that
